AI Humans Helping Real Humans
Part 1: AI Interview
At DeepBrain AI, we are continuously amazed by the diverse and innovative applications that our clients create with AI Humans. Various industry sectors, such as hospitality, retail banking, and recruiting, have all deployed our AI Human technology. However, there is a common theme that we have observed across all these applications, AI Human implementations are always designed to help real humans complete tasks. In its many forms, AI is a toolbox that helps businesses and employees streamline workflows and serve customers. This blog is the first in a three-part series on the overarching theme of how AI helps people be more productive. For this first chapter, we will focus on our AI Interview service, and future blogs will dive deeper into hospitality, retail, and banking solutions.
DeepBrain AI recently released a new service, AI Interview. As a startup in growth mode, this service was somewhat motivated by our own internal need to improve the candidate screening process. We received hundreds of applications for every new job opening that we posted, and it was nearly impossible to ensure that every applicant/resume received the attention they deserved. Since AI is such a versatile toolbox, we decided to implement AI Humans, ChatGPT, and speech recognition to streamline the candidate screening process and ensure that no resume was left behind. The end result was a more efficient process, with the very best candidates flowing to the next phase of the interview process.
Let’s examine the traditional screening process for recruiters, hiring managers, and HR professionals. As shown in Figure 1 below, it is a labor-intensive process that starts with resume review, custom question preparation, scheduling, hosting, and summarizing. Add on the pressure of finding the best candidates quickly, and it is easy to see how it may lead to missed opportunities for both the hiring manager and the applicants.
Using a combination of AI models, the entire process can be streamlined to ensure that every applicant gets a thorough review and an opportunity to actually demonstrate their specific skillset on a much more personalized level. Figure 2 demonstrates the candidate screening workflow implemented within the AI Interview solution.
The AI Interview solution starts with the traditional resume review, which is either done by a recruiter or ATS. Then qualified applicants move into the AI Interview workflow.
Step 1, ChatGPT (or any desired LargeLanguage Model) creates a custom list of personalized questions based on the experience in the resume.
Step 2 isn’t really AI related, but since we are running virtual interviews, the inefficient scheduling process goes away entirely. This is because each candidate receives a custom link to attend theAI Interview, which they can do whenever it fits their schedule.
Step 3, an AI Human hosts the virtual session by greeting the applicant and then asking them questions. The entire session is recorded and transcribed by a speech-to-text model.
Step4, ChatGPT is used to summarize the results. The hiring manager is presented with a friendly dashboard for every applicant, which they review whenever convenient. Using various AI models, the entire process has been simplified, helping to ensure that the top talent reaches the next steps in the interview process.
As mentioned earlier, we are always amazed by how clients apply our AI solutions to solve their problems. AI Interview is no exception. We have already been contacted by universities that plan to use AI Interviews to help them assess the overload of applications to the school. A few pharmaceutical and medical companies are even considering AI Interview as a tool for collecting patient and clinical trial information. It is quite probable that this tool will evolve over time to become another flexible and scalable AI solution for use across many business segments.
